The New iMac

The new iMac is so thin! I was checking out the latest product Apple has come up with and they have upgraded their iMacs. Only the 21in is currently available to buy and the 27in version will be up for sale in December. I have been thinking about saving up for a new desktop computer. I went Mac and I don’t think I could ever go back. Most of the software specs are the same except with a few new additions. Aside from being so thin, Apple removed the CD drive. It is so thin they can’t even fit the disk drive. I think they are outdated anyways, but I guess it could be a con for those who still watch DVDs and burn CDs. Apple has a way with making technology as thin as possible. I am so tempted to buy one of these, but $2000 is just not in my budget right now.

I want a refund my iMac and buy this new iMac!! but, If it does not have CD-Rom or USB disk drive, then it will be little complex to use for now.

I love apple’s products and I cannot see myself going back to a pc again, ever … hehe
The new iMac looks amazing, but the only concern I have with the new design is about the CD-Rom drive. I know that soon Cds will be gone but I cannot see myself having a computer without a cd driver. What do you think? Does that bother you? Would you still getting the new design even though you would not be able to watch a dvd or burn a cd to play in your car?

  7. I can’t wait to see how slim it is in real life. CD-Rom drives are overrated anyways.

My thoughts on this is that the reason for this is more for marketing reasons than design of the iMac itself because they believe that if the iMac has no CD-Rom or other ports on the i mac itself then people will be persuaded to buy external hardware for it. I also believe if this is true that the design of this imac is this slim i would like it to be touchscreen.

I am also a iMac user and definitely love this new design of the iMac! How come they are making this so thin! If you are thinking to buy one, I would recommend buy 27″ iMac. I always regretted buying 21″ iMac.

AHH! I love it! Ever since I got my Mac in 2009, I fell in love and cringe anytime I have to touch a PC. This iMac is really awesome! My mom just got the one before this, so hopefully she doesn’t see pictures of the new iMac and get jealous!
