As of right now, I have neither. From all of the design studios I have visited they have all emphasized that the design world is moving toward a more digital era. They would prefer to see more online portfolios rather than print. I am a bit intimidated to create a print portfolio knowing it takes some craftsmanship to put it together. Online portfolios seem so much simpler. You can show it to so many more people. No glue. No paper trimmer. No worrying about the printer printing out exact colors and color profiling your computer. I do not think print is dead, but what are some of your opinions on showing printed portfolios vs. online portfolios to potential employers? Those of you who have already gone through the process of being interviewed and/or employed for a design related position what have you experienced in terms of employers preferring which type of portfolio?

I think it’s important to have both. I have my website on my card and anyone can find me on the web to see my work. However, I reserve my portfolio for clients and potential employers.
