Distorting the Postal Service

Many of us have seen the United States postal service logo. It is one of the most recognizable logos around. For most, the image of a bald eagle is easy to recognize .Unfortunately that was not the case for me. I grew up with an unclear view of this insignia. I always saw it, recognized it, but could never make out what it was.  In my mind, what I saw was an abstract figure that represented the mailman. I went on for years oblivious to what that dumb shape was, until one day a friend revealed to me the logos true identity. I literally felt as if my mind was blown and I also felt as if the blanks, from the past experiences, with this logo had been repaired.  Though I now know it is a bald eagle, I still distort the logo when I see it.

I am DYING right now. I am literally crying laughing at how dumb I am. I never knew that was a freaking bald eagle. I thought it was like a flying piece of paper or something. I had to Google it. Well, now I know. You learn something new everyday, right? Thanks!

Honestly I feel like USPS could benefit from a makeover. As a dying business, you would think that they would try to make their image the best it could be. Also, the website–what a nightmare. It looks outdated, poor navigation and the content is SO confusing. They need to just go ahead and skip Saturday deliveries and brainstorm how they are going to get out of the ditch from the bottom up :)
