I found his website very helpful for understanding how to sell yourself. ” People hire me because I help make their businesses more profitable.” He had a pricing formula:
Good information of what to research but not very helpful for those starting out. But he does offerer the chapter from his book on this topic for free. http://www.workformoneydesignforlove.com/images/wfmdfl-free-chapter.pdf. I was hoping for more information but did not really get it. Basically like everything else you will get better at pricing with experience and it is more an art than a science. I kept going from blog entry to blog entry. “What convicts can tell us about branding,” cool business cards and printing companies for business cards.
He suggests getting 50% deposit down before starting any work. Other quotes on his website ” Why use 50 words when you can get the idea across in eleven.” his blog topics include: Advertising, Art, Blogs, Books, Branding, Business, Graphics, Identity, Marketing, Packaging, Photography, Posters, Printing, Resources, Stationery, Typography, Web, Writing.
I’d better get back to my design proposal.

Glad you found my site of some use. Thanks for dropping by.
Love David Airey’s articles. Often times, when people are starting out in design, they want a standard answer but really everything changes from person to person depending on skill level and experience. When I come to a block in the road or have some questions, his blog is my go to. I can usually always find my answer or get a direction to find an answer. He has really awesome advice for design students–specifically abut self-employment.
OMGGGG it’s David!!!!
Hi Aubrey, thanks for the plug!
