I Learned Something

While on spring break I visited the national park White Sands in New Mexico. This is a desert, unique, because it is composed of white sand. Before entering the location there is a small museum, which provides information as to the phenomenon that is White Sands. Looking at an interactive display in the museum, my graphic design senses went off the charts, when I noticed a small error. The designer who put together the display used Double prime marks to indicate feet. I was amused at the error. According to the display 12″below the surface is a pool of water. This is impossible, because my feet went into the sand about 6″. Immediately after noticing this I felt proud to have caught such an error. Though prime marks are something you learn in other areas of school, they stuck with me while I was studying Graphic Design.
