A mild take on what a UI designer does…

Hey guys!

Here is a video on the development of the UI design for gaming I been following for a while. This is one of
the many things I would like do for a game design firm. John Likens is actually the same designer that designed
the Iron Man 3 helmet HUD that you see flying around in front of Robert Downey, Jr. as he is playing the role of
Tony Stark. I know it’s not true Graphic Design focus, but I wanted to share some more professional information
on my elevator speech that we had during the first week.

Enjoy,

Thank you for posting this, Colton. I definitely think this is directly correlated with graphic design. UI interfacing is just the next step of graphic design from print to media. They use the same tools as conventional designers use, such as the Wacom pad in the video. I also liked how they were discussing how important continuity was to the overall design. All of these elements are critical to the effectiveness of the design itself. Have you heard of the video game company Quantic Dream? They have similar ideologies in terms of creating an intense and engaging UI interface for their gamers.

Sorry for a very late reply (issues without limits). I have actually heard and seen the teaser for Quantic Dream (). They do seem to be bring this game to a more emotional and immerse experience. Which I pretty confident we will see great designs from them in the near future.
