Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Umbrellas are some of our most-trusted companions during the winter season. Well, most times.

Imagine it’s a cold and rainy day, and the winds have started to pick up. You’re clinging to your umbrella as though to dear life and then the worst happens…your umbrella turns inside out. Aaahh!!

Fear no more, the Senz windproof umbrella has been designed especially for this worry. Created by Berlin designer Yske Nishiumi, the Senz umbrella is asymmetrical yet meant to retain its shape in gale-force winds. It keeps the user dry from head to toe due to its unusual shape and can withstand up to 70 MPH winds in the event of gusty weather.

This design seeks to counter the amount of waste produced by traditional umbrellas that break every year being lightweight and resilient. So grab a Senz and get ready for a drier, calmer winter!

Can I just say, as a Mason commuter that has walked the mile long hike in the rain with an inside out umbrella, THANK YOU Yske Nishiumi! The invention of this innovated umbrella is something that is very much needed and I love that fact that it decreases the amount of waste output. This is a way of thinking that I feel should be adopted by all producers and manufacturing companies – environmentally friendly and user satisfaction!

I remember walking to Safeway during a snow storm and my umbrella flipped inside out and broke. I could’ve use one of those umbrellas at the time but seeing this brings me joy. I wonder if its out in US already? Not only is it environmentally friendly but it has a slick design. Having an umbrella that can last me through the years is a product that I’m willing to invest in.
