Pixel Money

Pixel and flat design styles are so in. The simplicity of pixel art and the beauty of flat design are mysteriously attractive to many designers and consumers. However, the style must have gotten serious attention in Norway. Norway’s currency designs definitely sparked my interest. I know that design trends impact countless marketing ads and companies but to actually affect huge changes such as currency design of an entire country is mind boggling! Is flat design a classic timeless piece that has captured our hearts or will it disappear into oblivion? Are we going to look at Norway’s money design and laugh or respect it in 30 or more years?

Don’t get me wrong, the design looks gorgeous. But if people were trying to counterfeit this it would sure seem easy. Perhaps pixel and flat art aren’t trends anymore but have entered into a new category of legitimacy.

    Wow, those are stunning!
I have to agree with you though, I feel like this is a “trend” that may not last long. It is entirely possible that in 5 years we will look back and laugh. Or, think “what a poor design choice” simply because it has fallen out of favor.
