Can We Talk about how Fun Info-graphics Are?

Have you ever seen an info-graphic? If not you are seriously missing out. If done right they can turn out to be entertaining but also informing. You can see info-graphics almost anywhere; from Pinterest to in a book. Info-graphics are pieces of information that are used with pictures to help inform others. They use graphs, charts, and other things to help a viewer visualize information. Here are just a few info-graphics that I have really enjoyed.

By clicking on the image you can get a better idea of what I will be talking about. Anyway, this info-graphic has the do’s and don’ts of New York for new people. I though that it had very useful information given and the illustrations gave it a funny and personal touch. Also whats nice is that it gives little known gems for people to visit. Over-all I think it does a proficient job in what it is intending for the viewer to understand. Here is one more info-graphic that I have enjoyed.

Again you will have to click on it to get a better look. This info-graphic is about coffee. I absolutely love coffee and to learn a bit more about it in a fun way was interesting. I enjoyed not only learning about where certain coffees are from but also the most expensive one on the market. I also liked that they have a little section about the brewing of certain coffees. For instance espresso is made with coffee and hot water or mocha is made with espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate.

I really enjoy info-graphics and I think that they are a great way to get information out there that people will actually read. Do you guys enjoy info-graphics? And do you think that they are good way of getting info out into the world?

I love info-graphics as well! They are the best way to present information and make it fun an interesting. In fact I’ve had to do a project and create one and it was very fun.

I enjoy info-graphics too. The most memorable one I saw was the one at the coffeeshop. Perhaps customers asked what is dopio, what is macchiato, or what is cortado a lot. Perhaps the owner was a fan of info-graphic as well. But the info-graphic of kinds of coffee and the meaning of each name helped me and other customers get to know more about coffee.

I’m really looking forward to creating my first info-graphic in my design class. They look so complex, it’s almost intimidating! I can really see a way to bring that first info-graphic example to life by animating it, having the people move a little, the bike going across the page, and the car’s wheels moving as smoke puffs appear around it. Maybe I can try something like that with my info-graphic!
