Is Damien Hirst a genius or a lunatic?

Damien Hirst is a crazy artist. His first public attention was in London in 1988 when he curated “Freeze.” He is very famous for using dead animals to create his artworks. His materials for art comprise of thousands of dead butterflies, a real skull, sheep, sharks, and more.

Hirst gives the viewers a shocking experience by using blood with cow’s dead head as well. Due to the nature of Hirst’s style and method, his artwork receives many negative, as well as positive, criticisms.  Some viewers have negative criticism and frown upon his work because they don’t think he is an artist. They argue that Hirst is an unethical person for using dead animals as props. On the other hand, some viewers love his artworks because they think he is a genius and a brilliant artist for presenting a sensational idea.

Damien Hirst is one of the most famous artists these days. However, the viewers are still debating about his artistic style. What about you? Do you accept his artistic style as being ingenious ? or do you think he is a lunatic and a cruel artist?

I have to admit I am a bit disturbed by the shock artist world. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in seeing there shows in person.

I wonder what inspired him to do such art. Maybe his cultural background, or even a childhood experience?
