According to Hootsuite, “2.8 billion people were using social media by the end of 2016, up 21 percent from 2015”. What does this mean for a designer? Well, it can introduce a name, connect viewers to artists, and provide a free portfolio. The best (and worst) part about social media is that it can be seen by anyone from anywhere across the globe. This means that people of all ages and cultures are able to share posts instantly to someone worldwide. In 2016, Facebook was ranked the number one social media app used online. I would definitely say it would be worth a designer’s time to invest in a free Facebook page showcasing their work.
