And the 2017 PANTONE Color of the Year Is…

Announced annually, PANTONE unveils the Color of the Year each December. The corporation explains that the thoughtfully selected color is “a color snapshot of what [they] see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” This year’s chosen shade has been characterized as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”

So. What is the 2017 PANTONE Color of the Year?

A hopeful and vivacious shade, PANTONE 15-0343 Greenery bursts with rejuvenation, vibrancy, and unity. The pleasant yellow-green symbolizes several themes occurring within the world and ongoing, current events. It not only represents human society’s connection with nature and the association to growth in life, but also highlights a reassuring pathway to the future.

Popular industries like fashion, home furnishing, and graphic design are well aware that colors are greater than simple, aesthetic accents. They represent so much more; and, like Greenery, they can resemble a gestalt whole of causes and issues that matter and have the ability to serve as visual symbols of hope, strength, and community.

Hi Ashley. Thank you for your post. This blog is informative and helped learn more about pantones. Most of my graphic design professors talk about using pantones and the benefit of it. The Greenery pantone seems like a worthy winner for the color of the year. Greenery reminds me of a melon dew color. It seems refreshing and cool. Thank you again for your post.
