Visuals As Communication

Graphic Design is a way of problem solving by using visual imagery. Many researchers have used studies and state that visual cues help us better retrieve and gather information. Me personally I learn better I’m presented with images rather than text. Graphic design is the perfect discipline communicating an idea or belief to a large mass of people in order to market a product or good. In order to communicate with a certain demographic the designer must make something that has clear and consistent context as well as content. We see this notion of communication present everyday around us.

I’m the same way. Visuals always helped me learn more in public school than reading a textbook. A diagram of the cell cycle will always teach me better than a description of the cell cycle.

I’m also a visual learner. I guess I could also say I learn through examples as well. Graphic design does a good job of this.
