YouTube’s Thumbnail

Everyone knows what YouTube is, right? You know. The website where videos can be published, watched, and shared? Well, it’s good to know that we can make whatever videos we want. However, the most important part in the YouTube community is a thumbnail.

For those who don’t know, a thumbnail is an artwork that determines what kind of video one is about to watch. When publishing a video, content creators are given a choice of either using the thumbnail from a part of the video or posting a custom one.

The best option for the thumbnail choice is developing and posting a custom one. Choosing a thumbnail that are taken from a part of the video is basically spoiling the viewers. The video must be a surprise somewhat so one needs to be cautious on what to put on their thumbnail. The content creators must design the thumbnail as if they are explaining the synopsis of the video.

I have definitely notice custom thumbnails as a growing trend. Personally, I prefer stills of the actual video, because it can help me remember whether I’ve seen it before. But I do understand that the point of a thumbnail is now just to get you to click the video.
