Welcome to Fall

The first day of fall has passed along with the chaotic midterm week with last minute touches of final projects. Then,  I realized that the next year is around the corner, and design trends are on the buzz. According to this LinkedIn post, some design trends to look for in 2019 are gradients, brand schemes, typography, and illustrations. As a designer, the one trends that excite me the most is typography. One of the best aspects of typography is making the typography so large it turns into an image for viewers. The blog discusses the trend of designers’ using large head letters in their designs to convey important information and creating a unique character. With that said, emerging of custom fonts with those qualities have been on the rise. I cannot wait to see what trends popular designers incorporate in their new designs as New Year’s approaches.  Are you keeping up with the trends to use in your designs?

Interesting how people look and pay trendy things. I like that because it gives us designers an open path to express our feelings using simple elements like typography.

Is it cool to be in trend? Or is it cool to be innovative and break the current trend. As designers, I feel like we often stay within trends. There is no right answer, but I think it is good to break the trend. I often follow the trends, but I try to break it when possible.
