Food Made Fun For Kids

Ever since I was a little kid I have always loved dinosaur chicken nuggets. This was mainly because of how I was able to play with the dinosaurs with ketchup while I ate them, making eating fun. For my parents this was great because I never had an issue eating my meals when they served me them. Now that I’m older I realized that It wasn’t the taste that made me go back every time, it was the design of the creatures.

Companies over the years have utilized the use of designing their food to resemble creatures and characters that would entice kids to interact with them. Making breakfast, lunch and dinner fun for kids is a marketing strategy for selling food that is very reliable because kids will always want to go back. Many parents are going to buy food that gets their kids excited to eat.

Food like dinosaur chicken nuggets have been designed to look playful to encourage kids to want them and eat them. Other food like gummies, and cereal play on the shape of their food so that its more appealing to the consumer. Food like raison brand is often considered boring and unattractive to kids because of its lack of creativity. For kids it doesn’t really matter too much about the taste of the food because if they can be shown that the food they are presented is fun, they will want to eat it. So, if companies make their food creative, kids are bound to play.

First, I want to say that I am a huge fan of Dino nuggets too, you are right, The taste of them is not not good, I think that McDonald’s have much better chicken nuggets. The shape of them is what make me kept buying them, I just could not resist add them to my shopping cart, even though they cost more than the regular nuggets, it is definitely a very smart marketing strategy, because think about it most parents would pay a lot of money on their kids.

I believe I would have eaten more veggies as a kid if they were shaped differently. I also like Dino nuggets, but i feel needs more could be done with getting kids to eat more veggies.

I’ve actually witness this, which was really funny and interesting at the same time. I used to work with kids and during lunch time we would feed them vegetables along with their meals. The kids typically won’t eat them, but when we reshaped them using cookie cutters, they were more opened to it
