Jim Denevan, Earth Drawer!

Everyone goes to the beach and starts writing or drawing in the sand. Well Jim Denevan takes this to the extreme. He creates designs in sand, earth and ice that are eventually erased by waves or weather (like the image shown below). He has the record of the largest artwork in history in Nevada. It ranges for about nine miles in circumference. Aside from creating designs in the earth, he is the founder and organizer of a worldwide moveable feast called the Outstanding in the field. This event is “to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it. Outstanding in the Field is a roving culinary adventure – literally a restaurant without walls.” They hold these on mountaintops, sea caves, on islands or at ranches. I think this would be a fun adventure to sit around a table in a sea cave or somewhere out of the ordinary!
