Prepare to be inspired: UNICEF

Design can inspire, design can stop people in their tracks and design can change the world.
UNICEF the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund was founded in 1946 by the United Nations in order to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that were devastated by World War II. UNICEF now provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries, after 1953.
With an organization like UNICEF design is crucial. An important cause needs impactful design.
A recent campaign with the slogan – “If you don’t fight child abuse, who will?” designed by Young & Rubicam is one of the most powerful ad campaigns I have ever seen.
Imagine sitting in a subway car, fighting your way through the foot traffic of New York City attempting to make it home from a hectic day at work. Do you notice the thousands of advertisements you are bombarded with? Do you stop to read them? Could you tell your husband, your wife, boyfriend or girlfriend what you saw on the ride home?
I believe you would notice these. Why? Because it is amazing design!

    You are right. A l ot of time NonProfit association that ACTUALLY help people don’t have money for design, but big advertising firms do it as Pro-Bono work and let the designers experiment instead of listening to the client. A lot of time they come up with great work.
