Text Face

I remember it was last year when I first saw a face that was made completely out of just text. I was really taken aback at how well artist are able to create this images. I remember that I also tried to create one, but was not as successful. What I also liked about this art is that the words that they use have to do something with the image. It’s all tied in together! Although it does not seem it, the process to make these images can be a tedious one. I wanna do one of a portrait of myself and just share all my innermost thoughts and feelings. Making stuff like this is the reason why I love art!!!  Here are some images that I really like:

I agree with you, it is amazing how the entire image was made by text. Here is the beauty of typography classes become valuable. Really I did not have a solid background about the topic before I toke my typography class last year. In fact, it is one of the most classes that appreciate. With out knowing the basics of typography it would be difficult to approach good design works, because typography and design are well connected to each other. In my typography class I did a project that is very similar to the one above. Also I remember another interesting project that we had to do with text only. We had to choose a song that we like, and then draw that song as we see it, as we feel it, or as it relates to us. At the begging of the project, as beginners in typography we felt it was hard to draw only by text without using any tools other than the characters on the keyboard. However, it ended up as one of my favorite projects ever. Now after I finished the typography class I continued doing the same kind of work for my own pleasure.

The only thing about those is that those are not true mosaics, the middle one is the truest but it’s still cropped on the side. You can see that the two on the sides are just layered images burning a page full of text, which is easier to do, but still always looks nice.
