Capital One Bank … thumbs down!

A couple of months ago when Chevy Chase bank was switching to Capital One Bank, I started receiving a lot of mail from them, and for some reason I always thought it was just promotional mail from a random bank. I think it was not only  the often mail I received, but also the weak logo they have and I saw it too mediocre to be from a big bank. I thought at first it was just the logo on the top of their letters, or the entrance of a bank and ATM that bothered me, but now is the website as well. The letters of the logo look stretched, they are outlined, italic, bold, have a horrible red boomerang with gradient and bevels; I feel that the website is not easy to navigate, I don’t like its layout; the cards have too much going on, it was enough with that awful logo and on top they had to add some dark colors on the background with sparkle.

Being such a big company and a strong bank, why did they choose this logo? who actually had the brilliant idea of this logo as the new face of the bank? Do they actually have professional designer? … so disappointing!

    Yea, I agree with you! The logo is pretty hideous. The boomerang is definitely the worst part. I’m not entirely sure why they felt this necessary. I didn’t think banks used boomerangs! And yes, the word “Capital” is thick and italicized, while “One” is thinner. I always knew I didn’t like it, but now I realize I actually hate it. Thanks for posting!
