I just saw a commercial for My M&M’s. In this commercial the narrator talked about the new M&M product where anyone can put what they want on an M&M; from short phrases to your face. I think this is a good idea for advertising; it brings a new life to a product that has been the same for so long.

The thing that really caught my attention though was when the narrator said you could even put you logo on it to promote your own business. To me, this idea seems like asking for trouble. I feel like promoting your business by putting your logo on an M&M would cause some sort of branding lawsuit.

I am not sure this would cause a problem…It seems to me that M&M has come up with a smart business strategy. They offer you the use of their product to promote your own business, which is good for you, while at the same time, they are promoting their own business because whoever you give the candy to will see the M&M logo. It seems to me that this strategy will get M&M’s a good deal of money in the end.

I think M&M was smart about this. It’s fun and unique and who doesn’t like M&M’s? I think being able to put your face, name, or a company logo on a piece of candy is a great way to sell yourself and advertise what you need to.

I agree that this was a smart move on M&M’s part! I mean I probably wouldn’t use candy to promote my business, but I can see it working for some businesses! Or even as like a holiday gift for companies to give their employees. The trouble would be a gym using them for promotion. LOL Or a health food company.
