What’s next?

One thing I’m always thinking about is trends in design. Looking back on how things were designed in the 80’s and 90’s they might make odd use of color, space, typography, and can sometimes look over-done. This was a sort of a part of a style that you saw over and over in a lot of 80’s-90’s adverts. I just think it’s interesting that we’ll inevitably see the same thing happen with much of today’s design. It will inevitably be succeeded by a new style that will emerge. And it’s odd to think that a lot of what we regard as visually appealing will probably look strange to people years from now. But at the same time a lot of design can be timeless. Sometimes certain aspects of old styles of design can be endearing and appear in modern designs because it has a certain air of vintage nostalgia to it.

It’s part of an art evolution, there will be a time a new style, trend, or design will be created in future references, or based on a company. Clothes/dressed will be redesigned, old softwares will be upgraded, and textbooks will have new editions. We both might know what comes next; whether it relates to art and design, or technology and computer softwares.
