Apple’s New Logo?

I just stumbled upon an article online talking about Apple’s new logo. Well, maybe.

When the new iPad was unveiled about a week ago, a new retro looking apple logo was displayed at the end of the keynote. It was multicolored and very reminiscent of Apple’s first rainbow colored logo. It features the same colors as the old retro logo although they are displayed as a splatter within it.

Many think that this new logo might be emphasizing the new and highly vivid retina display on the iPad, and just merely that.

I personally think that its quite nice going retro on the Apple logo but I feel like they are trying too hard and its quite unoriginal. Splatters are great, graffiti influenced design elements. I don’t think thats the image that Apple wants to give off. It also reminds me of tie-dye. Either way, the new logo is quite childish.

Here is the link to the article I stumbled upon:

Enjoy!

The colors of the logo are reminiscent of the retro Apple, but I don’t seem to mind it. If they were to try to permanently adopt the new logo, it would be more of an issue in my eyes, but for a one time thing, it works well. It actually reminds me of the Nano color ads that have the color dripping from the bottom of each Ipod.

In my opinion I believe Apple should leave there logo alone. It doesn’t need extra elements to help it stand out. I don’t mind the white apple against a designed background, but I don’t think a designs or colors should be inside the apple logo. Less is more in this case.
