Fan creates watch concept inspired by Picasso

I hope I’m not the only one who occasionally wondered when I would find value in my art history classes. While it’s important to understand backgrounds, plenty of us want to have practical applications for everything we learn. I present to you a concept for a watch from Tokyoflash.com, a lovely website that sells watches that very rarely tell time normally.

The watch pictured is from the blog where fans can post concepts. This design in particular blends both technology and art history by drawing inspiration from Pablo Picasso to create a timepiece. What’s fascinating about this watch in particular to me is how it can blend such distant concepts into such a complementary whole. It makes you realize that you can draw inspiration from more than just obvious sources.

These digital numbers were very well thought out. When on the watch, it is confusing to see the numbers but when they are placed next to each other, you are able to tell what each is easily. I agree that it is fascinating how they blended two completely different concepts together to work so well.
