Lifetime Logo

Launched in 1984, Lifetime Television is a channel generally devoted to women. The Network is “committed to offering the highest quality entertainment and information programming, and advocating a wide range of issues affecting women and their families.”
I simply know it as an outlet for poorly written, made for TV movies. One thing i noticed after reading this article is how poorly designed previous logos have been for appearing on the television. This new logo certainly solves that problem, It is big, bold, and (I hate to say it) but very modern. Unfortunately it does nothing to provide any information or acknowledge anything about the network mainly due to the confusing monogram. What is it? does anyone have any ideas? the article reports “the icon is an “l” inside a circle — I’m not sure what kind of “l” or “L” it is, but I’m assured by Leroy + Clarkson that it is” I am curious how this appeals to women or represents women it just looks like a mangled exclamation point to me. other than the logo – i do like the rebrand and advertising at the bottom of the article       Click Here

I’m not quite sure if I get the meaning of the new icon for the channel however I still don’t not like that they dropped the script serif font for a sans one.

It’s interesting to see the evolution of logos. The Lifetime Channel holds a special place of hate in my heart, so here’s yet another reason to dislike it.
