The campaign race is finally over, but the words from the paid advertisement from each party that was broadcasted over the radio are still regurgitating in my mind.
McCain was called out for campaign ads with half-truths and many reports have proven his claims to be completely false and misleading in many cases. I personally find it difficult to ignore things that sound far-fetched and have a dramatic tone. The one where McCain approved that claimed Obama’s greatest accomplishment was the legislation of comprehensive sex education for kindergarteners particularly stood out to me for its outrageousness.
How did McCain make himself believe that he win the public by deceiving the public with his messages?
And what exactly do each case/scenario actually look like on paper? Is it even ethical to juxtapose images of the opposing party’s running candidate to promote false ideas about them?
If a graphic designer was asked to do printed version of the radio/commercial ads, where would they stand in the development? Should they compose print ads even though there isn’t enough evidence to support the composition, which then skews the truth, unintentionally?
